I love mine, you can cook nearly anything in it. If you are baking outside with the coals on top, though, that does take a bit of practice. Indoors of course it's really simple.
Try this recipe indoors:
1 whole chicken
salt
pepper
a bit of oil or cooking spray
Roast the chicken, when it's beautiful & golden, add:
Tomatoes cut into wedges
Bell peppers cut into chunks
Onion cut into chunks
Can of pitted black olives (drained)
chunks of smoked ham
Put the lid on and roast till the veggies are tender. This is absolutely delicious, I like it with a bit of rice. It's a Spanish recipe, I'm told - but really, I like it because the chicken comes up perfectly done in the dutch oven, the heat conducts very evenly. Happy cooking!

They are pretty easy to master, their are some things you should know, like how to season, and keep a season on cast Iron.

yeah they are i should know i live in utah the onlystate that has a state cooking pot (wich happens to be the dutch oven) ...so stupid
