Gap between Islam (east) and Western civilitation?

Do you believe that there're so much gap between Islam and Western civilitation that make big miss-understanding between them that cause negative impacts for the world civilitations (ie: Oil war, Terrorism, Economic hidden war, development countries, images, etc)?

    I believe that there is a gap because people tend to judge Islam without even opening and reading the Holy Quran. If you want to end this gap we should know each other first.

    This is just because of the misunderstanding of real Islam. Islam is originally "the religion of peace and wisdom".

    islam has a gap inbetween itself and all other civilizations, the religon of "peace" has always been at war since its creation 1400 years ago
