take him to court it seem that u are in front of a con dont forget to take all the recieves whit u thats the only way ur gonna win he should also pay for the time ur loosing

1) first send a demand letter (make a copy) and make sure it is dated, 2) in the letter indicate that you will file a small claims court action in your local court, 3) go research at your local court how to file a small claims action, 4) get supporting evidence that shows that you own the car - receipts, checks, records, anything that shows that on a certain date you paid for a car, 5) if you received the car any other way - gift, inheritance, I would look for some kind of evidence showing intent to grant ownership. You word alone might be a tough sell. Then go to small claims court. Another route may be going to the dmv and explaining your position and asserting ownership that way. This would force the other party to lay claim and then they would have to assert a small claims action. If the dmv is not cooperative then go to plan A. Good luck.
