Were you a foster child? What was it like?

I'm a foster mother, and I would like to know how I can help the children I care for.

I was in fostercare all my life. I had some good parents and some bad parents. The good ones really cared about the kids. My advice is to love them as if they are your own and most of all remember that they have had a bad life so far so they WILL have problems

I wasn't one, but my wife and I adopted one. My best advice is to love the child and teach him or her wharever you can. Most importantly is to provide a secure and stable home. There was a contestant on American Idol that was still in her teens and had been in something like 14 foster homes. I can only imagine the rejection that young woman must have felt!

By the way, our son is now a US Marine currently deployed in Africa, is married and owns a home in North Carolina. He is 25 and has two very proud parents!

It was very lonely as I was ripped away from my family without seeing them, so plz allow family access!!
