You know what's a great strategy here? Multiply everything by 10. Get rid of the decimals entirely. So, doing that,

p + 21 = 46p - 19 + 5p

Combine like terms by moving around some terms,

40 = 50p

Or, if you're more accustomed to having the variable on the left side,

50p = 40

Divide by 50.

p = 4/5

Since you started with decimals, it's probably a good idea to end with one.

p = 0.8
