It depends on what's causing the irritation. If it's allergies (and you've had them before), an antihistamine may help. Otherwise, it's best not to self-medicate. See your eye doctor to find out what's causing the irritation and what the best solution is for you.

visit doc. he'll tell you what you have acquired. eye irritations might be from bacterial organisms to viral infections. LYNDYLOL said he had conjunctivitis and he's right, you just can't use "visine" or "eye-mo" drops for this case. in most cases of bacterial eye infection, antibiotic eye drops or ointments are given. go check doc.

be careful with this, i currently have conjunctivitis & have been to docs twice this week and have been off work for 4 days. they have given me anti-biotic eyedrops which havent been remarkably succesful plus steriods plus antihistamines, go to the docs dont muck around & get an infection in it, plus it can be contaigous

I'd try eye drops; if it is extreme and doesn't get any better consult your eye doctor.
