i would suggest you login in to your router using your router ip - usually 192.168.1.1 (or it is specified in ur router manual). when u login to your router there should be tab where you can specify a key. this key is usually a four/eight/sixteen character long combination of alphabets or numbers and people have to enter this key to connect to your network.

all this should be there in your router manual, i suggest you refer it. or if u dont have one, go to the router company's website.

It depends of which type of modem router you are using. I use the Belkin modem router. Once you have set up everything for your modem you then need to create a profile via your usb adapter and for all other users in your household. Each usb adapter has to be set up the same as your own, if you are the main user. You need to possibly create a profile and then select an encryption and a passphase.

You should have a user information guide that comes with your modem router and usb/notebook adapters on how to do this. If not check out the website for your particular modem router. I am no expert and I have only just started using wireless quite recently. Hope this helps.

Forget Mcafee. Go into your routers config and enable these steps.

    1. Change the default SSID

    2. Enable WEP or WPA encyption

    3. Turn off broadcasing of SSID

    4. Enable MAC address authentication.

I presume that you have a link sys Ciscos systems router? if so go to the linksys web site and use their configuration programme, its very easy and give you the option of securing the network.

It not! Wait until McAfee has this option.
