I need ideas for a week long road trip, where can I go from Minneapolis MN?

I would love to go down to the southern states, like Kentucky or stop in Texas, Indiana, Louisiana....the bayu? Wherever it is warm. I would like to stop at flea markets, and odd attractions and stay in the cheap motels, but not the ones with bed bugs! Please help me plan a relatively cheap road trip!

You did not mention the time of year, but if you are looking at summer the UP of Michigan is Great. The weather is nice (not to hot)the people are great and at times you may feel like you have stepped back into the 1950's. Drive along the Lake Superior coast and you will find little towns with nice local hotels and great food places and flea markets that have not been picked over by collectors and have things you did not know about. All in all I think it is a great way to spend a week and with gas prices it is not far from MN.

Kentucky is a nice place, depending on where you visit. If you are thinking of Ft. Knox, make sure that you have your drivers license, proof of insurance, and registration, otherwise you won't get on post! I live right outside of Knox in Radcliff. Another plus is that Caesars Indiana is only an hour from here if you like to gamble and are old enough. Its has a kick A$S hotel too!

Kentucky has some really expensive and some really decent priced hotels. Louisville, is the closest "big" city to Knox, and its about 30 to 45 minutes north. IT has good clubs and there are great flea markets all over this place!

I was born and raised here!

Try getting in the car or truck and just drive in the direction you want to go. Dont use interstate highways. When one of the 2 things happen, turn around and head home, 1. You have used half of your money, 2. You have used half of your time for your trip.

good question. I don't know how you'd go about planning a trip like that. While traveling through the country I've been attracted to old military forts and play it by ear the whole way.

getting interior the vehicle, and not in all likelihood leaving society, yet purely going the place ever the line takes you. bypass suddenly, without expectancies and a schedule. purely head out with some acquaintances and seem out for brand spanking new issues, make techniques. I definitely love highway journeys? -i?paramore
