How do I fix this PHP error "The directory name is invalid"?

I use windows 2000, and IIS Server. I use PHP 5.1.2. The problem is everytime I set permissions for me to be allowed to edit my files this "The directory name is invalid" error comes up on my website until I set permissions where access is denied for me then my websites are restored. How do I solve this PHP scripts disaster?

The problem occurs on a windows server when you don`t type the &#92;&#92;. You need to write files as C:&#92;&#92;windows&#92;&#92;x for it to read them. Make sure your using the right commands check the manual. Make sure no special characters are in the file name. I recommend testing with C:&#92;.
