How do I fix this PHP error "The directory name is invalid"?

I use windows 2000, and IIS Server. I use PHP 5.1.2. The problem is everytime I set permissions for me to be allowed to edit my files this "The directory name is invalid" error comes up on my website until I set permissions where access is denied for me then my websites are restored. How do I solve this PHP scripts disaster?

The problem occurs on a windows server when you don`t type the \\. You need to write files as C:\\windows\\x for it to read them. Make sure your using the right commands check the manual. Make sure no special characters are in the file name. I recommend testing with C:\.

no, *.lnk documents are purely that - they are documents not folders. in residing house windows once you click them they flow to the folder they seem to be a shortcut to considering's a residing house windows characteristic that's outfitted in. in dos they are purely undeniable documents, so applying exchange itemizing continually fails for the reason which you try to alter itemizing to a document not a folder.
