Are you really an American Patriot?

What makes you ask this? Do you think thee is a lack of patriotism in the US?

If so, I couldnt disagree more. Even in a time where we are fighting a very unpopular war, there are American flags on every corner and a "support our troops" magnet on every 3rd car.

Or maybe I just think that because I'm in the Air Force and live in a military community

It's really hard to love a place where a single voice cannot be heard, and even large groups are widely ignored unless the agenda meshes with the agenda of the powers that be. I am thankful for my many freedoms and for those who struggled to earn them, but I think trying to force American ideas on places that don't accept or want them is a waste of time and money that could be better spent at home for those who need it here. I do for my community because that's where I see I can make a difference. I'm not caught up in my own world.

Yes, many people have forgotten this. We're so caught up in our own lives and trying to spend time the way we want to spend it, having fun, with our loved ones, etc... Some of this is not bad, but it would be good if we could be proud of where we came from and who we really are.
