what are the advantages of mixed race marriages?

They enrich each others culture, bloodlines. They confirm the fact that, yes, all races can get along if everyone would just look beyond skin color and religion--I think that is the biggest benefit right there.

Speaking as some one with half my family in the UK and the rest in Serbia, the advantages are, cool summer holidays, understanding of another culture, it doesn't make you blinkered and bigoted, in this mixed race scenario, You also get 2 Christmases, which is deadly when you're a kid!

It depends on where you live -

I know, being in a mixed marriage myself - I lived in the South(NC) and it was not a good experience and it was sad to see people I'd known for many years - drop out of my life because I married a white man. Even the places I worked had a dim view of my mixed marriage ---

Now I live in BC in Canada - people treat us like everyone else...(there are bigots in Canada - I am saying the majority of people are fine with it)

Although I can give you the downside (a child of a mixed marriage) I wont because I believe if the two people truly love and more importantly respect each others cultures then there can be peace and harmony :-)

One advantage that I would like is that a mixed race couple can result in a very beutiful offspring and thats one advantage that i would love.

I've heard it reported by respected scientist that the mixing of races strengthens the immune system by bringing in long standing genetic immunities to various diseases. While genetic weeknesses are often canceled out by the opposite race's inhearent deffences.

Hmm, there are lots of advantages, but the best one is being happy and growing old with someone you love. And then of course having children and seeing both of your races showing beautifuly in their faces. I cant wait until I get married to my man and have beautiful babies for him.(he's half hispanic half asian, I'm black)

I agree with the above user. Love is color-blind, but culturally rich in interracial marriages. And yeah, the kids are beautiful!

some other advantages (aside from kids) could be breaking down syndromes like pre-cancerous conditions, sickle-cell anemia conditions, and other symptoms that are more prominent in certain races (believe me, there are a few!)
