Could you make proton star material using deuterium?

If one where to strip the electrons from, for example, hydrogen or deuterium (which is easy enough) and then cooled it to freezing, what would be the resultant solid material? Pure protons-but I cant imagine the physical properties of such a thing. One would imagine, since there is so much hydrogen plasma (H+) and hydrogen oceans on gas giants, that this may occur..

Update:

Ok, obviously you couldnt actually make proton star material because of the gravity requirements-but if the charge is strong enough to cause constant repulsion, then you are saying you could not form a liquid or solid and *any* temperature, and that doesnt seem right- And if this *is* that case, what sort of material would you have. It seems that this would be easy enough to do physically and chemically, and the resultant material would have incredibly interesting, and maybe useful, properties.

Update 2:

I was thinking deuterium because I get twice the mass for each positive charge, so there would be less repulsive force per gram-Also, I thought the neutrons might stabilize the material.

Update 3:

Good Ferrel-so we would have a nearly motionless gaseous form, with an astronomical positive charge? I cant imagine that, given we can strip hydrogen to make H+, and supercool just about anything, that we couldnt make this substance- It would be incredibly reactive and electromagnetic. I wonder about the density, though. Without an electron shell, I would imagine that the nuclei could get fairly close, so in my mind, it would be much more like a liquid than a gas...it would find a set volume to occupy, but be in constant flux. Surely a subatomic physicist could figure out the average distance between nuclei? It might be a very dense liquid..

when a solid is formed with hydrogen the way it is formed is by covalent/ionic bonding.

Because there would be no electron covalent bonds would not be able to be formed. also because every thing would be positivly charged it would not be possible for ionic bonds to form.

the definition of a plasma is exactly what you are looking at. It is the fourth state of matter, namely it is when the electrons are dissasociated from the nucli. No matter what tempature you had it would remain a plasma. even if it was cooled to abolute zero and pressurised with electrostatic feilds it would still remain in a gas like form for there is no way for it to solidify. The repultion of the electric feilds would be far to great to over come the neuclear forces that would be needed to make an isotope of heleium with no nutrons.

one might imagine that if you did cool it and compress it a whole bunch it would maintain some shape, but then quantum mechanics take over and the protons would be switching possitions constantly.

also the possitive charge of the proton star would be incredible, remeber that it takes only one in a thousand electron to make a substance very highly electricly charged... we are talk a thousand times more than that it is impossible to even imagine what the effects would be

If you want to make a proton star, why bother with deuterium which has neutrons? jsut stick with hydrogen. And yes, it would be VERY hard to keep them together since they all are positively charged.

Protons all have the same charge. They naturally repel each other. If you want to make them into a proton star, you need to get so many of them together that their gravity will keep them from flying apart.

non secular human beings see the universe as tremendous tuned purely because they are right here searching on the universe. They overlook to work out that the universe is in many situations uninhabitable by potential of human beings. truly, maximum of Earth is uninhabitable by potential of human beings. Our Galaxies colliding received't immediately result contained in the destruction of our planet (regardless of the actuality that it may) imagine that you pour 2 drinks at the same time, the fellow molecules (or atoms) do not become destroyed, they merely get mixed up slightly. definite, issues will probably leap off one yet another for slightly notwithstanding the Earth ought to live on this turmoil and no matter if each and every living element in the international became wiped out, abiogenesis would commence each and every thing up back. there are such an outstanding sort of topics with the Genesis tale, no longer least being that God is declared to have instructed a woman that she wasn't allowed to do some thing which any male can inform you is a effective-fireplace way of having stated lady to need to do it. This shows complete lack of forethought and understanding of females. Then we've those who believe a speaking snake, as if anybody may believe a speaking snake. We see a complete lack of mongooses close to the forbidden fruit which back shows lack of omniscience on Gods area. We then bypass on to work out that God punishes Adams descendants to the Nth era for what's against the law of scrumping it truly is thoroughly disproportionate and each and each and every of the ladies get further punished with painful sessions and newborn-start it truly is grossly disproportionate. i'd merely want to characteristic that this very last punishment wasn't rescinded by potential of Jesus' demise and that i'm incredibly effective that even the most fundamentalist Christian lady who has popular Jesus as their saviour nevertheless suffers with this discomfort. I do get your element regardless of the actuality that. each and every thing looks finely tuned till you actual look at it heavily and rationally. i come across it unusually ironic that a R&D crew in Toyota would have designed us a extra ideal backbone than the single we inherited from our ancestors that walked on all fours. How are we to believe that it became designed by potential of an omniscient being?
