I got a best answer vote without having the best answer!-How do I give the points to the other answerer?

First of all, let me say that its so nice to see that you do not care about the points and are more inclined towards making Yahoo! Answers a better community. *cheers*

Now, coming to your question, I think although you cannot hand over your "best answer" reward to the other person, you can applaude his/her effort by going through his/her best answers and giving a few thumbs-up votes to some of his/her deserving answers.

You can also suggest the idea of switching the best answer reward to the Yahoo! Answers Team by mailing your comments & suggestions at the following addresses-

Man, you need to have a word with your conscience, sounds like it's ruling your head! Would you be as moral if you won the lottery in error?

In answer to your question... post a question like "whats the name of the guy who deserves the points?", if he has contact info in his profile, notify him/her of the question , and give them 10 points for the best answer.

If they aren't contactable, notify them in a message in answer to one of their questions.

unfortunately you cannot give the poins to someone else, but you can definately comment on your answer and indicate that you think someone else has a better answer.
