Most definitely not. Our government was founded on sound Christian principles. America believes strongly that anyone can come here and practice any religion freely without government involvement. Recently though, this has been true for every religion except Christianity. There is nothing wrong with having the ten commandments posted outside of government buildings and such, especially since most of us do believe that there is one God, and the ten commandments are a great moral compass (thy shalt not kill is an excellent commandment, don't you think?).

The government is being so hypocritical. Either Stand for religion or stand against it, but don't be jumping to an fro. The government was found on the basis of Christianity. Everyone knows this. This is not a new secret revealed. But today's Government is so worried that someones gonna get offend that it no longer stands as solid as it use to. i will support and defend this country, but it's a shame that I have more back bone than the people in the Congress. I know what I stand for.

Sorry but to answer the question I would keep the ten commandments posted. they're are the basic values of life.

    No, they shouldn't.

Anyone who's seen me post on questions regarding religion knows that at best I could be classified as Agnostic, so I don't really have a ax to grind in this one. I really don't care if you believe in God or not, I only care about your actions. That being said...

There is no doubt in my mind that the 10 C's have an important place in history. Indeed, they form the basis of our laws. To display the 10 C's is not, IMHO, a violation of the 1st Amendment, provided that several base criteria are met, including: 1. That the government not pay for the display (as it will show government support, UNLESS the other major religions are displayed & paid for as well), 2. The government allows other pertanent items from other religions that may reflect the proper bearing of these items on our history of law.

I think that it is ridiculous. Our country, while not ESTABLISHING a religion can very easily acknowledge one or more. The US was founded on Judeo Christian values, at the core of which are the Ten Commandments.

Can anyone, religious or Atheist tell me honestly that they do not form a solid basis for interacting with each other? The first Three that relate to God may not feel applicable to Atheists, but there is no arguing that the next seven apply to us all.

I also feel that the first three define our (everyone's) relationship with God. If you don't have one, you should look into that.

I gave up on the ten commandments a long time ago. Now I prefer the ten condiments - ketchup , mustard , mayonaise , salsa , pickles , peppers , tabasco , relish , gardinia , and wasabi.

What the first pills suggested are what maximum people anticipate are the commandments. yet in case you keep examining you'll see Moses is going back up the mountain and god rewrites the commandments on a 2d set of pills. that's in Exodus 34. the hot set are highly pronounced as "the ten Commandments." they are: the 2d Tables of Stone (Ex. 34) a million. And he wrote on the pills the words of the covenant—the ten Commandments." Exodus 34:27-28

I think it was a mistake to have them there in the first place, so yes. Everyone's beliefs should matter equally as much or no one group should matter.
