Any auto-painters have any advice?

I just painted a car for the first time. I used the basecoat/clearcoat system. The clearcoat has dried and there are several insects that landed in the clear overnight. What is the next step? After I clean-up the bugs, what is the last step? Wet-sand then wax?

Update:

The bugs are acually dead and IN the clearcoat. Should I sand them out and reapply more clear?

Name the bugs, and keep 'em as pets!

It will depend on the flaw that is left, but most of the bug tracks can be eliminated if you use care. Wash them off with water and soap first, that may be enough. If it needs more attention, you can wet sand with 1000 or 1500 grit paper, then machine buff. Runs and drips can also be taken out this way.

Probably ought not to wax the car for a couple of weeks.

Forgot to add, the compound I use is 3M Finesse. They should have it wherever you bought your paint.
