  • Conservitive Christians?

Which group reports you the most, Liberals or atheist. Neither seem to have a sense of humor or capable of deep thought.

  • Republicans & Liberals, why are you arguing over stupid stuff when the house is burning down?

Our country is in danger of being lost forever. Our national debt is out of control. Our politicians don't listen to us, they only listen to the world banks in international corps. You call each other names while your own side is guilty of the same things. If we can't come together and agree that some kind of responsibility needs to return to government history will repeat itself, it always does. And who is in the middle of it all, the banks and world corps. You sound like a bunch of 4 year old kids calling each other names.

  • Do you believe the world markets are being manipulated by the banks and governments?

The past year after the crash the stock market has been recovering much of the losses from the big crash. While the market has went up trading volume has been low. Then there are the rumors of the "Plunge protection team". With government debt going through the roof they need inflation. The problem as I see it is, the consumer is tapped out and not wanting to borrow any more money. This is keeping the money supply going into T-bills and not into circulation. With deflation trying to take hold the governments and banks will be bankrupt. Greece is just the beginning. Scary.

  • Why do liberals consistanly do this?

They consistently call conservatives mean rich people in one breath then in the next call them uneducated idiots. Which is it? By nature it takes a smart person to get really rich. They then call conservatives greedy but statistics show conservatives give more to charities than libs. I'm convinced it's because the common liberal are greedy, liars that are more concerned with what other people think than what really matters and they think because they are then everybody else is too. Then they complain that conservatives want to control the bedroom meanwhile the libs want to control every other aspect of life. Hmm. Just a bunch of hypocrites.

  • If the civil war had not happened, would race relations in the U.S. be better?

Don't answer before you read this. What started this thought was a picture I saw on the Antique Road Show. A man brought in a civil war picture of his ancestor and said the second man in the photo was his best friend. They were both dressed in Confederate Uniforms. His ancestor was standing and had a large knife in his hand. The second man was sitting and like wise had a large knife. The second man also had a rather large shotgun in his lap and a pistol in his shirt. They fought in four battles together with the first man being wounded in the last battle. The second man was African and was the manservant of the first, yet they considered themselves friends. After the war they lived near each other and stayed friends for life. This the historian commented wasn't all that uncommon, but we don't see this in modern history books.

It is a fact that the Civil War wasn't all about slavery, there were provisions for Africans to serve in the Confederate army. I say this because I believe that most people of the time didn't see Africans as lesser people (that came a few years later with Darwin's Theory of evolution) just uncivilized and they thought they were giving them that. I believe that if the war had not happened the strong Christian movement of the time would have caused the abolition of slavery without a shot being fired. Had that happened there would have been no empty political promises made, the economy of the south wouldn't have been destroyed. Just a thought.

  • On going issues with an old Ford 390fe?

Here's what's going on. The truck sat up for several months during which time water got in the fuel. When I finally got around to draining the tank and got it started the truck just wouldn't idle and would miss/backfire going down the road (every once and a while it would act like it was running right). I replaced the carburetor with a new one, it had no effect. The truck ran the same. I replaced the spark plugs, the truck always ran rich and the plugs should have been black but they were tan. I replaced the cap and rotor (Ford duraspark ignition) with no change. I checked the vacuum, it was a little low (15inch)but the truck has a little bit of a cam. I checked the compression and the cyls were within 10 psi of each other. When I do get it to idle (the idle screw on the carb is almost all way in, (it should sound like a plane ready for take off) the motor runs around 800 rpm roughly. Every few seconds it hits like I've patted the throttle. I pulled plug wires and it seemed that every other cylinder had no effect on idle quality though they are getting fire. After checking all this could my troubles be in the brain box or distributor? It's strange.

  • Any ideas what could cause this ignition problem.?

Ford 390, electronic ignition. It's been running really bad since I let the gas go bad and burnt the starter up. After sitting up for several months I finally fixed the starter and drained the tank. The motor ran rough and felt like it was leaning out (spitting, backfiring and such). I've replaced the carburetor (no change), the fuel pump (no change), plugs, cap and rotor (surprisingly the plugs were tan when in the past they would be black from running rich) again no change. So I got it to idle which was no easy task and started pulling plug wires. # 1 had no change in idle, #2 did, #3 didn't, #4 did and on that way. I have never seen this in a Ford distributor or any other for that matter. Is this in the brain box or distributor? Why would 1,3,5,7 be dead?

  • The Emperors new clothes and Obama?

In that story the people were told that if they couldn't see the Emperors clothes then they were just stupid. Are there any similarities now with Obama? If someone points out a real political flaw then they are called racist, when that has nothing to do with it.

  • Mechanics, have you ever changed out a starter that was this hard?

It's a '69 Ford F-100 with a 390 and auto tranny. I had to take the headers loose, remove both motor mounts and jack up the motor as high as it would go. If you'v ever delt the the FE you know it has three bolt, and the third one is between the starter and block, not the easiest to get to. After all that I had to fight it out. Now I really don't want to put a new one back.

  • Question about global warming?

There was a report on Yahoo news about a P-38 fighter plane that was salvaged 50 years after it crashed in Greenland. It was covered by 250 feet of ice. Now I'm just a dumb redneck, but that figures to 5' of ice a year. Doesn't that go against the conventional wisdom of Global warming? Shouldn't the ice have been receeding on Greenland?

  • Brakes on an '88 Toyota Pick up, why?

Ok, heres the deal, last week I was driving home when the front brakes started dragging. When I got home they were nice and toasty. They were acting like they weren't releasing the pressure, and even building presure as I drove. I did a break job, the front were still about 85% and the back were worn out. The problem is they are still doing the same thing, as I drive it's like they build pressure. Needless to say, they were toasty again. I'm about to pull my hair out. My first thought was that the purpotioning valve was causing the problem originally, but bleeding the system should have solved it. I'm stumped.
