Ervin Santana does have the stuffs, and I don't think he was bad last year - after all star break, he had a 3.97 ERA, 1.25 WHIP with 9-4 record. Four wins in September.

He is a sleeper, but the cons are

    (1) He is the 5th starter

    (2) He doesn't strike out much

    (3) Angels might not be able to give him enough run support this year.

And it's up to you now.

why not if hes a FA dont give up too much in a trade or take him in a draft like before round 15. But he does have good sleeper upside to win 15 and strike out 160.

I agree completely with the second answer. He'll give you solid ERA & WHIP as good or better than any other FA you're likely to find. He'll also strike out more than most. Wins are the one pitching category I don't look at in determining free agent pickups due to their unpredictability, but he pitches for a quality team with a quality bullpen to back him up, so he should help there as well.

Yes you should, he's owned in over 96% of ESPN leagues and is widely known to be a sleeper right now. I honestly can't believe he's in the FA pool right now. He'll get his losses but his ERA/WHIP (the best indicator for pitchers) is good.

If it's a deep league, go for it. But I'm not sure if I'd grab him in a regular ten team mixed league though. He's a sleeper, but there are probably better options out there.

Yes. It is a good idea to get him. He's a great young pitcher and should do amazing.

A message to the guy who posted above me -- regular leagues are 12 teams, not 10 leagues.

this game is for rhe nimble.. shoot first, ask questions later.

personally, he's not worthy of my roster spot.

It wouldn't hurt, he's pitching pretty well so far.
