For an adult male it's within normal parameters. For a female, it's in the upper limits of normal.

Hi are you a male or female? generally maleas are a little higher than females, if the value you stated is in grams per decilitre, the answer is that 16 is not too high.

Normal = 13 - 18 g/dl (male)
11.5 - 15.5 g/dl (female)
These are UK figures and based on the labs there and that the person is living at UK altitude.

The normal range is 12-18.
