No, it is never too late to take proper care of your teeth and gums. Their are many reasons people do not have regular dental cleanings, but regular dental visits are very important to not only your oral health, but also your total body health. I'm sure you're aware that gingivitis and periodontitis contribute to tooth loss. But these diseases can also lead to heart disease, pre-term low-birth-weight babies, and complications with diabetes. Gingivitis and periodontitis are caused by the build up of plague and tartar, because these two things are loaded with bacteria. Unless you have been taking really good care of your teeth (brushing twice daily and flossing daily), you probably have tartar buildup, especially behind your lower front teeth. The only way tartar can be removed is by a dentist or hygienist. Brushing does not remove tartar, it only removes plague. Please make an appt today with your dentist. I know you want to keep the teeth that you have, so visit your dentist every six months.

No, I wouldn't say so. Especially if you're not having any problems with your teeth, it shouldn't be too bad. Yeah, you might have a few cavities, but if you've gone 20 years without getting toothache then you must be looking after your teeth pretty well! Probably the biggest thing will be the build up of plaque, you might need a deep cleaning and scaling, which isn't the most pleasant of procedures from what I've heard, but the most important thing is to get an appointment and go and see what needs done!

Is it to late to get another Job. If you haven't really taken good care of your teeth, and its been 20 years, get ready for the sticker shock when he comes out and say something along the lines of, well the plan we have is gonna run ya about $40,000 dollars to restore your mouth, and it isn't even guaranteed to last more than a year. Good Luck.

It's never too late for that but your teeth are probably in really bad shape. Don't expect pearly white teeth when you get them checked/cleaned.

no, its never too late, but be prepared for some bad news. You might have to have the plaque scraped. If you have been really diligent about brushing and flossing you might be one of the fortunate ones.........good luck
