my house is in a mess and i know i have to clean it but just cant get myself to do so!!?

what can you say to force me to clean it?

Update:

one room or one spot at a time doesnt work with me!!!When i clean one room or one spot, i mess it up soon enough...and the process seems like a never ending cycle!unless the whole house is clean, i just can't seem to maintain it!!!

Update 2:

the whole house is carpetted, so, i don't even have to mop it.I vacuum clean it every week, but haven't done for a week now... the main problem is the stuff lying around, clothes, shoes, paper, you name it and it's there....EVERYWHERE and the kitchen sink!!!!

no one can force you to do it. the best way to get motivated is to turn off distractions, like the tv and the computer. maybe turn on some fast beat music, and say to yourself, that you will get ____, ___ and ____ done and then reward yourself. break it up, do a little each day. heck, take 5 min to do something, then stop. don't look at the big picture cuz you will get discouraged.

I'm the same way about cleaning, The TV is my biggest enemy.

You could try hiring a maid or house cleaning service to go over the house. Could you keep up with the spot cleaning if the majority was done? If not, and cleaning bit by bit doesn't work I'm not sure what you could do. No one can force you to clean, you might be embarassed by the mess if someone drops by for an unexpected visit though.

I live with a family of 5 (parents and 3 siblings), I have to clean the trailer I live in everyday after school, by the time I get done, It's 8:30. I get no help from my young siblings, my mom's at work all day, and my dad's back is out of shape. But if you're in this kind of situation all I will say is this: I wish you the best of luck, and don't mess up. Parents will get on your @$$ if you do. Have fun.

Do this right now! Go to Yahoo music play or create your own station. CRANK it up, open the windows. Light some candles (for the smell). Pretend like you are having important company, or invite some over for later or tomorrow. Start with one room, and finish it, but as you have to go into other rooms, pick up something to put away or throw in the trash. You'll be done in no time. Sometimes I even have a little beer. It makes it more fun that way.

    READY....on your mark

    get set

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    I'm going too........unfortunately

But I'm going to check your progress in an hour

When it gets this overwhelming, just take one small spot/room at a time...the before and after effect is oh so nice...
