Just bought a Chinese Algae Eater and it has vanished.?

This is the 2nd one that has dissapeared. I also just lost a neon ( vanished too ). Would my spotted catfish have eaten them??? I thought they were peaceful.

    YES!!!!

I had a bunch of spotted pictus cats. Once they got to be about 5-6 inches they got pretty aggressive. They are nocturnal so when the other fish were resting on the bottom they would rip up fins, then my danios started to disappear. I loved those cats but I got rid of em'.

I brought them to our petstore to trade in, they gave me a few dollars credit for all of them. They said they would be hard to sell because they were so big. Went back a few days later they were sellin em' for $12 each. *grumble*

Anyways- watch out for those cats they love their fishies.

    Good Luck!!!

Maybe the Chinese Algae Eater used some sort of oriental magic and they all transported to freedom!

    DO YOU HAVE A CAT

OK SO SOME FISH WILL EAT OTHER FISH NO MATTER HOW DOCILE THERE ARE WARS OVER DOMAIN ISSUES SO TRY SETTING ANOTHER TANK WITH THOSE FISH IN THEM AND SEE WHAT THE OTHER DOES IF HE MOVES TORWARD THE OTHER TANK THEN YOU HAVE SOLVED THE MYSTERY

catfish by nature are bottom feeders so anything that resides on the bottom is pretty much food to it. has nothing to do with its' temperament.

if the catfish's mouth is bigg enough to swallow the fish it will. if not look behind the tank
