do you think investing in a mexican collection agency is a good idea?

a friend of mine has this idea to invest on a collection agency that pretends to give service to american companies who might have had business with companies in mexico who didnt pay back.

Update:

this collection agency in mexico started about 15 ys ago and right now they collect for 1700 companies in mexico. i think their experience speaks for itself, but im not sure how many american companies will actually trust them.

Update 2:

the "advantage" should be that this people are already in mexico, instead of having my own attorneys go down there trying to deal with distance, culture, language, etc...they also seem to be good at collecting, i mean they have 3 offices in mexico located at the 3 main cities in the country.

Now is a bad time to invest anything in Mexico. There is a presidential election this year and the odds on favorite is a Chavez type. If and when he wins, things may become very shaky in Mexico.

No. Poor exchange rate, poor chances of collecting the debts and too much distance and difficulty ensuring accountability from the company.

Calling your loved ones is prohibited. rather in the event that they are disclosing any information on the subject of the debt. in case you want the telephone calls to end you will desire to deliver them a letter inquiring for thy end calling. I noticeably advise you google debt collector rules. there are various valuable internet websites.
