Canadians does your spelling conform more with U.S. or UK usage?

    I would say it's closer to UK usage.

    Wikipedia says: "Canadian English spelling is a mixture of American, British, and unique Canadianisms. Canadian vocabulary is similar to American English, yet with key differences and local variations."

    If we know the difference we'd mostly choose the British. They (we) invented the language. We've never cut the roots of our heritage so we will pick the British spelling to specifically reinforce our identity as an independant country in North America.

    Centre, programme, colour, theatre, cheque, connexion etc..

    I think our spelling is a mix of both, probably a bit more with UK usage, but I'm not really sure.
