Why do women sometimes say the opposite of what they mean?

I remember once when I was married, my wife and I were invited to a party and she was sick. She told me it was okay if I went so I did (like an idiot). At the party the hostess gave me a very good piece of sound advice that I will share with you now. She said "You should be home with your wife. There is no way she was going to tell you not to come to the party but she really wanted you to stay with her. She told you to come because she wanted you to 'WANT' to stay with her." Guess what, I am no longer married and part of the reason is for me being such a dummy.

Same reason why some guys say the opposite of what THEY mean!

i'm a girl and i say the opposite to make them try to figure out what i'm trying to say and to make them get even more intrested.

I thought it's because they didn't want to hurt your feelings or risk losing acceptance by stating the blunt truth.

but, if they're truly intentionally playing mind games.. that's evil, ladies.

not only women, all human beings sometimes do that

Because they are women..... if they did not have a vagina, there would be a bounty on them

To see if guys know better or not. Usually, they don't.
