Check out Manet's "Olympia" (1685). This is THE painting that sort of introduces "porn" into the art world. There is a difference between a nude, nudity, and pornography. A nude can be seen as a body image that i ment to be pure and beautiful. nudity is ment to tease, pornography is ment to excite...

i hope this sort of helped you out.

Prozakian: Art can certianly be vulgar and disgusting... Art is meant to envoke feelings, by the artist expressing his. Sometimes that feeling is Vulgar and disgusting. Like Paintings of and from the Holocaust. Certianly they were disgusting, and meant to be.

If an artist intends to sexually arouse the viewers of his art then so be it. Art can express any emotion or desire the artist intends, that is what makes it art.

So I feel there is no line, because art is art, and can never be anything else. Porn is just a word people came up with to categorize a form of art.... But its still art!

If your asking if pornography is an art then, in my opinion, i don't think so. But, I do think the human body (nude)is a thing of beauty and interesting at the same time.

if the piece in question brings about lustful or vulgar thoughts or show vulgar actions then it is no longer art but porn.

Naked art pieces do not reflect upon there own body parts while porn does.

It's a matter of taste and feeling. It's no longer art when you feel like it.

that depends. is someone looking at it saying that the lines of the human body are amazing and in awe of the form. or are they looking at it saying "great knockers"

When it goes from statuesque nude posing, to depicting sexual penetration.

It's only pornographic if you want it to be. Leave your judgments in your own head please!
