Do you like American Idol? If so, why? and if you think it bites, why?

I love the show, as millions do, and I think that the answer to your questoin is simple....As some point in their childhood lives, everyone dreams of being the next great performer. It didn't have to be just rock or country...could be classical, opera, whatever.

Watching Idol can almost take some of us to a world in our minds where WE are the next superstar, just like we were at age 6 with the "flashlight" spotlight and a potato masher microphone....

I've seen it a few times. I really only enjoy the beginning when they put the silly people on the show, in order to get laughs. On that Merritt, it's entertaining, but once they get past the obviously ridiculous contestants, it's a complete joke. Just because more people watch it than other shows doesn't make it good. Just because a lot of people cheat on their loved ones, doesn't make it right. People now days need a very dumbed-down sensory input, and while that's sad, I find reassurance in the fact that there are still creative thinkers out there, though their days are numbered.

I love American Idol because it's the most entertaining show on television.

yeah i like American idol i have watched it since it's debut why i like it is because its entertaining and most of the time the music is good and the public gets to be the judge and vote on who they like and that's fun.

i love it, i don't want to but i do. it's like the only clean show left on tv i think. it's a nice mindless show, you don't need to think about anything. also, i think the interactive thing with the voting for the winner has a lot to do with its success

it's too much hype for the same old show. The episodes rarely vary enough to keep it interesting.

i'm obsessed with idol!!! i watch it coz music is my destiny!! and i love to sing!!

I used to like it. I guess im just sort of bored with it now.

It's awesome because it let's ordinary people become stars.
