Atlanta trip?

I'm planning a weekend trip to Atlanta with my best friend. A couple of questions: what are some good things to do there, any recommendations on where to stay, and is it easy to get around using public transportation (because none of us drive)? Are attractions and events easily reachable without a car?

Totally depends on what your looking for. As far as public transportation there are buses or the metro and cabs, but the city is wide spread and it could be confusing and expensive if you wonder too far. There is a reason they call it Hotlanta and its not just for the temperature.Have a great trip.

Unfortunately, the city of Atlanta is spread out over a large area, and the public transportation is primarily within the business district. So without a car, you'll be stuck in your hotel room.

If you can afford to stay in Buckhead you can get to MARTA public transport as well as lots of shopping. I'd look for a chain in Buckhead along the MARTA line.

MARTA also goes to the airport and downtown.
