Heat rash treatments???

My husband works outside in the heat. He gets real bad heat rash around where his tool belt sits on his waist. Are there any home treatments that we can do to prevent or treat his heat rash? He cannot work inside, so that is not an option.

Heat rash is a discomfort, not a disease. It occurs when sweat becomes stuck in the pores and spreads into surrounding tissue, irritating it.

As a result, you're not only overheated and sweaty, you also have tiny red or pink, blister like bumps that are extremely itchy.

There are a number of things you can try to help speed up recovery, it should go away in 3 to 4 days by staying cool and dry and wearing light cotton clothing, and exposing the affected area to the air, you can find relief from itching by bathing in a bath with fresh peppermint leaves, about 2 cups full wrapped in some cheese cloth and immersed in the water.

Also an Ayurvedic practise, is to soak, 1 teaspoon of Cumin Seeds, and 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds in 12 ounces of water overnight. " in the morning strain and drink the liquid," do this daily until the rash goes away.

A water based gel of the herb Calendula on the rash can speed healing, but avoid Calendula ointment or cream, as it cuts off the airflow to the rash, which could make it worse.

Lastly, Lavender Oil, you can apply 2 or 3 drops directly on the rash 3 or 4 times a day.

He should work inside. Just joking. Isn't it annoying when someone answers your question and does not read it thoroughly? You answered my dog question that way. I stated that I like him, you stated that I didn't. Irritating. But seriously, hope your husband finds a good remedy. (My husband has to work outside in the heat also-no fun). My husband says to try using heavy duty suspenders on his tool belt-it will take the weight off his waist and put it on his shoulders.
