Cause (if you don't know about it) there are lots of rubbish, so called 'facts' in that book!!

Nope. This novel is a mixture of fact and fiction. Dan Brown uses a tiny bit of fact and adds a large amount of fiction to these basic facts to make it seem that the whole bit is real. I will give you an example: The Priory of Sion, the organization that Leonardo DaVinci was supposedly a part of. The book states that the proof of the Priory's existence lies in the papers called Les Dossiers Secrets. Now, these documents do actually exist, but they have been proven to be a fraud. A historian named Paul Maier stated that these documents were placed in the Bibliotheque Nationale by Pierre Plantard. This historian states that one of Pantard's co-conspirators admitted to helping him fabricate the documents. The hoax was exposed in the nineties in a series of French books and a BBC documentary. This Plantard guy actually has a history for fraud. The Priory of Sion is indeed a true organization, but nothing more than a social group. Any record of it existing prior to 1956 has been proven to be a hoax. Thus, because DaVinci lived back in the Renaissance period, there is no way that he could have been part of this organization. This is just one of the many proofs that have been discovered based ont the claims of this book. If you would like to learn more, I recommend that you read "A Quest for Answers: The DaVinci Code" by Josh McDowell. It helps to draw the line between the fact and fiction in this story. Hope this helps, God bless!
PS- It's okay for you to question things from time to time. It is, quite possibly, the best way to learn. This way, you can add to your own knowledge base!

A said above, Dan Brown has publicly said that the book is a pure work of fiction. I still think that Mary Magdalene could have been a disciple. Men back then still could have left that part out. This point is something I truly believe is a fact. The men who wrote the books of the Bible still could have left this part out, because it was socially accepted that women were lower than men. Jesus marrying her is a smaller chance, but God said that marriage is a joyous and wonderful thing. Them having children together is the fiction part. I wholly do not believe that this was true.
Source(s): By the way, I completely and with all of my heart believe in Jesus Christ, God and The Bible. I still think this book is more for fun than anything else. I also don't think it is Satan in a book. There isn't much bad in it that could change my faith. I just enjoy reading it! - gwad_is_a_mythLv 42 decades ago
I never felt secure about christianity for years, I do not need a book to confirm what I already know.
TSK TSK looks like another closed-minded person scared about the Da Vinci Code.. what's wrong afraid to have an open-mind?

If you need a fiction book as an excuse that you are questioning your christianity it is a sad day for you. I think people are already looking for any excuse and they have found it in the DaVinci Code. Actually being an atheist is one thing, telling your friends about it is like coming out of the closet. It's easiest with an excuse. Use what you need, believe what you want, but be true to yourself whatever your belief.

One thing I'm sure of is the da vinci code is hollywood deceiving christians. If you want to know about being a christian, then read the King James Bible it's filled with rules about everyday life.Don't let the devil lead you in believing a lie.The truth is,Jesus Christ is coming back to take the christians to heaven,my friend don't be deceived, accept christ and if you already did then being a christian is not easy all the time that's why you should always be in prayer, ask Jesus to help you and he will, read God's word, just ask in Jesus's name,Jesus will listen if your sincere.

The Da Vinci Code is a work of FICTION. Period. Why would you let a novel affect your faith? If your faith is that weak, then maybe you need to reconsider if you have any faith at all or exactly what your relationship is with Christ.

People say its fiction, let me tell you something, the Devil has used fiction to get into peoples heads since Adam & Eve. Dont think that just because it says FICTION means it wont destroy some people it will. Trust me I know I have the truth. Jesus died on the cross for me & you to cover our sins!!!so we could be with him forever all you have to do is ask for forgiveness!

There is about as much "facts" and "truth" in that novel that there is in M.More's book. You can apply the "code" to any printed text and get it to "read" anything you want.

No because like you have already said it is full of rubbish. Satan wants to start real confusion, and doubt in the world, that is his biggest weapon. Remember we are warned of the devil trying to deceive us.

well, it was sold in the fiction section.
i don't think questioning things is a bad thing either, maybe you could research some topics and then you won't feel insecure.
