All small weedwakers will work on 32-1 . the above answer is close the small bottles you can buy at wallmart or hardware stores is only 4oz mixed with 1 gal gas. To much oil and it will smoke and foul the plug and clog up the muffler, not enough oil and youll burn it up.

All current echo string trimmers are 50:1 mixture. too little oil and you'll cause heat damage and failure..too much oil and you'll foul the sparkplug and spark arrestor screen in the muffler. Best bet it to buy echo oil. 4 oz is for 1 gal gas and 8 oz makes 2 gal of mixed gas.
32:1 was a standard for years. 16:1 was for very old 2 cycle engines with brass bearings that needed more lubrication

Go to walmart and look for the little bottles of 2cycle oil containers that you use for one gal of gas they will work just fine lol. Also any hardware store has them also. The kind you get for chain saws and such.
The ratio depends on the type oil you use. Most 2 cycle oils have ratio's right on the bottle or can. If you use one brand you may need 50-1, if you use another you may need 16-1. The small bottles I talked about are figured for one gal of gas and will work for almost any small 2 cycle engine just fine.

Correct... echos are designed to use 50:1... poulans also don't use a 20:1 mixture... they use 40:1.
Make sure you use a oil designed for air cooled 2 cycle engines... best way to do this is go for what the manufacturer sells.. or atleast use a good name brand mix.

Yes, it can be done but you have to hold it completely level least the string slants down and gouges. There are actually trimmers on wheels to prevent this from happening, but not for your situation. Another thought is after the first trimming and if there's no HOA mowing, invest in a push mower with several neighbors. Each kick in a few bucks.......they are fairly inexpensive.....and mow it yourself. That small should take only a few minutes at each yard.

most pre-mix ratios are 20:1. They make small oil bottles that are 6.4 oz that you mix with 1 gallon of gas to get the 20:1 mixture. (128 oz per gallon) Thats how poulan does it.

16:1 works for most 2 cycle engines.
