How Can I Clean Our Bed Pillows without Them Getting All Bunched Up?

Update:

I'm not looking to simply "freshen" them. I want to actually WASH them, but they always end up all bunchy and totally unusable. And suggestions? Thanks! :)

It is best if you do the job at a Laundromat in one of their double size washers.

Wash on normal or delicate - be sure to use a laundry booster for some extra stain removal power.

When drying be sure to use a few new tennis balls in the dryer to keep the feathers all fluffed up.

The pillow will dry more evenly and will not stick to the outside of the drum and get scorched. You should monitor it closely.

Bed pillows are so inexpensive, you could replace them yearly. So unless you have very spendy down pillows why not do that. Most places will sell a pillow for around $5.00. I will bet you spend more on coffee drinks. I recycle my old discarded pillows into pet beds. Even the cat needs a new pillow now and then. If you just can't part with the pillow the tennis ball in the dryer works. The big commercial dryers work better than home dryers for this. Last resort buy pillow covers and only wash them.

I know Walmart has a home dry cleaning kit in the laundry section and all you use is the dryer.I am not sure on the cost like $10-$15 is about adverage in MN. anyway. I haven't use them but my friends tell me they work great.I have just thrown them in the dryer on the hottiest setting.

Just remember that the refill bags for the diaper genie is very expense. The bumbo chair is great, but the tray does not work very well (I would not get the tray). You may want to registered for pain medine and gas drop (I used little tummies gas drops) with a baby in the house you want them in the house. Also you may want a pack n pay they are great when traveling. Make sure you register for a baby monitor. Tina

I like to freshen my pillows by spritzing with Febreeze and setting them outside on a warm, sunny day. Really seems to help!
