I found one of those rocks that looks all rough and ugly on the outside, but when you break it open, there's beautiful quartz (or something) on the inside. What's it called and does anyone know how to break it open without damaging the inside?

Does anyone wonder what in the world happens to all the money generated by the lottery? It's supposed to go to our schools, but our schools are closing and consolidating and our teachers are being pink slipped or asked to take early retirement. What's happening to the supposedly millions of dollars that the lottery commissioner keeps talking about on his commercials? Our schools should be improving if we have all that money. I'm not seeing any improvements.
