No, it is not. The true teaching of Islam is one of peace. The biggest threat to wester culture is the breeding of hatred, ingnorance and fear. Those three things are what cause, predjudice, vice, crime, and other ills of the world. Once we all realize that we are all children of the creator (be it a god or goddess) then groups like the KKK, radicals, fanatics, and the ignorant people cease to exist. Most people only know about Islam from what they see on the news. No religion is without its militant fanatics, look at the crusades. The Bible (old testament), Torah, and Qu'ran practically mirror one another in the creation story and into the prophets, only the names are change to fit the culture. I have studied many religions to better understand the world, and not relied on the media for information. The media is a biased medium, and should be taken with a grain of salt. Lets educate ourselves people. Don't be a sheep believing what we are told to believe. Besides Islam is now the largest practiced religion in the world. It passed Christianity in the 80's.

I think that the Muslim religion has a certain way of looking at the world which we see as a threat to our largely Christian culture, however muslim women are largely as happy as christian women, and the biggest threat is actually a distorted view of Islam, which terrorists take. However another threat is the American view (of course not all americans) that they own the world, and should be in control of it. Also, if Islam wasnt a popular religion, and one which attracted followers, there is no way it would be a threat, as it wouldnt spread.

The biggest threat to Western Culture is ignorance. Yes Muslim's tend to treat women poorly than other religions. But there are many other people who mistreat women too...You could always follow the religion the ways it is meant to be followed and not go the route of all of the "bad" people.

not just to western culture, but to any non-muslim culture... islam has never been a religion of peace it has been 1400 years of war in the name of islam.. The crusades (a counter attack to muslim invasion of europe) ended almost 1000 years ago. Islam needs to reform!

umm, I think this is pretty big a threat to eastern culture don't you think? The people in the west can be mean or kind, and they have different beliefs than you. That doesn't make them vile, if our culture considers them an abomination that is our culture strictly, but we have been abominations before, so we aren't free of guilt.
