I'm on accutane and I have severe dry, chapped lips. Any suggestions?

I've used all the usual lip products like blistex, aveeno and vaseline to no avail. Is there anything else that might help?

Aloe Vera has amazing healing properties. Any kind of skin problem, that stuff works miracles. Get yourself an Aloe plant. Amazing results. Keep drinking lots of water, too.

I live in a very dry climate, and my lips get horribly sore and dry. I've bought assorted lip products, and most are pretty worthless.

The one product I recently tried that actually works pretty well is "neosporine lip therapy". It comes in a little tube and has done wonders at healing and soothing my dried out lips. It doesn't burn going on (some products hurt a lot if applied to super sore lips).

During the night, I keep the stuff handy and reapply it a few times. I find my lips feel much better if I keep applying the stuff once an hour for a couple of days.

As for diet... staying hydrated does help a bit. Avoid licking your lips, and wipe off any food or drinks after eating (use water to wipe, not your tongue).

my son is also on accutane and his lips are really chapped.Keep them covered in chapstick.Your face will dry out too so use a nongreasy moisturizer like curel or aquaphor.

this isn't my son is it?You wouldn't tell me if it was,but you can read all my answers, can't you? Not fair

Hydrate from the inside, duh. Drink lots and lots of water and then use the lip balms. Lip medex is the best, made by blistex.

perhaps as Schmod says, aloe could be helpful, but not for the dry lips, but for the pimples... you should have tried that first before going on this toxic drug that causes severe birth defects and higher rates of suicide.

It's better to see a skin especialist, and find a cure.

DRINK MORE WATER AND USE BURT'S BEES WAX LIP BALM, OR CHAP STICK
