Can you explain the NT Gospel any clearer?

Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God [Matthew 4:23; Mark 1:14; Luke 4:18; Luke 8:1]

Peter preached the Gospel [But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:25 (KJV)]

The apostles preached the Gospel [Yet [in spite of the threats] they never ceased for a single day, both in the temple area and at home, to teach and to proclaim the good news (Gospel) of Jesus [as] the Christ (the Messiah). Acts 5:42 (Amplified Bible)]

Paul preached "the Gospel [Romans 15:20]," "the gospel of God [Romans 1:1-2]," "the gospel of Christ [Romans 1:16]," "the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ [2 Thessalonians 1:8]," and he even preached "my gospel [Romans 2:16; Romans 16:25; Galatians 6:17 (Amplified Bible); 2 Timothy 2:8]."

They all preached the SAME Gospel: The Scriptures (OT) are True, the Salvation of God was fulfilled by the victorious, risen Messiah.

Update:

They did NOT teach that the gospel was that OT is just history, they did NOT teach that Jesus died so we may eat ham on Easter, they did NOT teach that Jesus came to change the official religion from Judaism to Christianity, they did NOT prophesy that Constantine, the Popes (& the reformers) would be doing God's will to decree that all shall desecrate the Sabbath and worship on Sunday ("the venerable day of the sun god" ..according to the pagan emperor's proclamation).

They did WARN against those who preach "another gospel [2 Corinthians 11:4; Galatians 1:6-7]." ...those who would teach the traditions of men with pagan-based holidays, eating animals which are unfit for consumption by God's people, spiritual fornication, and other perversions & abominations.

Update 2:

"Come out of her my people [Revelation 18:4]." Repent & return to God's Way, the Way of the Messiah (who was 100% Torah-observant when he said, "Follow Me [Matthew 4:19; Matthew 8:22; Matthew 9:9; Matthew 10:38; Matthew 16:24; Matthew 19:21; Mark 2:14; Mark 8:34; Mark 10:21; Luke 5:27; Luke 9:23; Luke 9:59; Luke 18:22; John 1:43; John 8:12; John 10:27; John 12:26; John 21:19; John 21:22])."

Update 3:

Donald Shaw - Scripture teaches that those who are faithfully obedient to God's will (at least since Abraham) are saved by the Grace of God. "responsible freedom" is an extra-Scriptural concept.

loanranger_98121 (who is "a very wealthy gay guy") - euphemisms for abomination are still abhorrent. Without faith it is impossible to understand God's Word.

the_ridiculous_fish1 - Yes, & the key to John 3:16 is to know what "believing" means. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. [1 John 2:5] And Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is, 'Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:' this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, 'Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.' There is none other commandment greater than these." -Mark 12:29-31]

Update 4:

Radagast_23 - "Reading Scripture without faith is like giving Shakespeare to monkeys." --Anon

jengen36 (" No need to") - the answers/replies to this Q demonstrate a desperate need.

djmantx - Jesus was Torah-observant when He invited (us) to "Follow Me." In the Acts of the Apostles (ch 21) Paul took a Nazarite vow and made Temple animal sacrifices (cf Numbers 6). When Paul defended himself against Sanhedrin accusations in the court of Gov Felix, he proclaimed that "so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets." [Acts 24:14] Paul did not deviate from the Torah!

it's a ridiculous, self-contradicting, false cult anyway, so it really doesn't matter...

The New Testament, like the Old is mythic. The New Testament was written by iron age men, just as the OT was written by bronze age men. The idea was to spread a "good news" story and thus found a religion. The story has a great deal in common with the many other god myths of the time, and borrowed particularly heavily from Mithra -- which was a prime competitor in Christianity's early years to the Christ.

The Bible was canonized (in more or less its present form) at the Council of Carthage with each book being voted on by the bishops. The intent at that time was to comform, at least in general outline, with the creed that had developed and been formalized.

Heterodox bishops present voted some books through that perhaps do not agree perfectly with other books -- but that is only to be expected given the methodology. However, overall the gospels were reduced from dozens to 4 and the story more or less harmonized. A few dozen conflicts remain.

    That's pretty much it.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The law did not pass away this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 Romans chapter 6 explains it well this is not the Jewish relegion this is the true religion of Jesus Christ who came to fulfill the law not to destroy it. Romans 6 starts 1 WHAT shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

My point is this is not living under the law however we cannot continue in sin. We are free in Christ Jesus. This is not the Jewish this is the Christian religion.

  • "For God so loved the world He gave His one and only Son. that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" Thats it, the Gospel in a nutshell

The NT teaches salvation by grace, and responsible freedom. How much simpler do you want it?

    No need to.

It is to the Jews and it is to the Gentiles, and finally to all people, nations and tongue in the whole world.
