The Ultimate Passover Lamb of God Sacrifice was for all to be saved. 1 Timothy 2:4
37 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is Jesus considered divine & that [most of] the written Word is "just the OT?" [or, just history?]
...esp since during His 3 yrs of ministry, He mainly quoted OT & clarified OT & denounced man-made traditions which were contrary to God & His Word!
In the beginning was the Word; the Word was with God & the Word was God
God give the written Word at Mt Sinai; Moses wrote it as the Torah
God sent His Salvation (Yeshua) as the living Word
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan you explain the NT Gospel any clearer?
Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God [Matthew 4:23; Mark 1:14; Luke 4:18; Luke 8:1]
Peter preached the Gospel [But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:25 (KJV)]
The apostles preached the Gospel [Yet [in spite of the threats] they never ceased for a single day, both in the temple area and at home, to teach and to proclaim the good news (Gospel) of Jesus [as] the Christ (the Messiah). Acts 5:42 (Amplified Bible)]
Paul preached "the Gospel [Romans 15:20]," "the gospel of God [Romans 1:1-2]," "the gospel of Christ [Romans 1:16]," "the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ [2 Thessalonians 1:8]," and he even preached "my gospel [Romans 2:16; Romans 16:25; Galatians 6:17 (Amplified Bible); 2 Timothy 2:8]."
They all preached the SAME Gospel: The Scriptures (OT) are True, the Salvation of God was fulfilled by the victorious, risen Messiah.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhy does 'Judgment' sound so legalistic?
Modern Christianity promotes itself as being all about love, tolerance, forgiveness, etc... and don't worry yourself about legalism like the Law of God, God's ordinances, the "Old" Testament, etc... But, why does divine 'Judgment' still sound so legalistic?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoChristians, are you big enough to be told there is no Easter Bunny? (see details for full context of the Q)?
We all hate to tell kids that there is no Santa Claus and there is no Easter Bunny... but someone needs to tell the children of God that God has never tolerated paganism mixed in with His worship.
The simple, quick test:
• If you follow the traditions of men with Easter & Christmas holidays, you follow the cult of that pagan emperor, Constantine, & of the Popes who claimed the authority & power to change [the unchanging] Law of [the unchanging] God.
• If you follow the Way of the sinless [i.e. Torah-observant] Messiah, you love the Word of God & seek to do God's will "on earth as it is in heaven" by following His Law, the Torah, (because you are saved by Grace)!
Little kids should be taught to not play with fire; the corollary is that the children of God should be taught not to play with HellFire.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhat is God's will?
When we pray, "Thy [Heavenly Father] will be done on earth as it is in heaven," I used to think that it meant that Christians are ~giving~ God permission to do His (omnipotent) will, not only in heaven, but also on earth.... I wonder if it may mean that when God's will is done on earth, it is because faithful believers are committed to doing it.
So, how do we determine God's will? What is His will which is being done in His heavenly Kingdom, which we should use as a pattern here on earth?
27 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoGod's Word = the Torah = God's Law = Yeshua the Messiah = The Way = God's Salvation. Does that make sense?
The Word of God was with God & was God before the creation; the Word was given to Moses who wrote it in the Torah; 2000 years ago, the Word was made Incarnate & lived on earth for 33 years - the [Suffering] Messiah gave His Life for the sins of the world & the same [Victorious] Messiah took His Life back (as Commanded to Him by God the Father), proving His Way conquered Satan, evil & death.
Those who follow the Word of God (the Torah) also follow the Torah-observant Messiah who is the Author of God's Law and demonstrated a life of True Torah observance - i.e. NOT following the traditions of man or other iniquity [which is transgression against God's Law, sin, lawlessness, antinomianism heresy, Torah-less-ness].
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoLaw & Grace, not law vs grace -- does that make sense?
Without God's Law, there is no Grace to Save - it is His lifestyle instructions which convict His people that they are sinful & cannot save themselves (i.e. we all deserve damnation) - we need the free gift of God's Salvation. His faithful believers seek to do His will "on earth as it is in heaven." Those who ignore His Law, those who rebel against His Law, those who ~try~ to make changes to His Law, those who look for shortcuts & loopholes in His Law... are lost - they have chosen "Graceless" paths to follow.
We can't follow His law perfectly - if we could, we could qualify ourselves for acceptance into heaven; those who love God & love His Law faithfully will be imputed with the Righteousness of the Son of God, perfected, and will receive the unmerited "Pass Damnation" into eternal life in Paradise with the Creator of the Universe.
Hallelujah!
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhy do some people avoid closure after a relationship has ended?
Is it a personality-type factor that they treat one as a persona non gratis? Is if low self-esteem? A power-play? (The person with the least interest in a relationship has the most power.) Something else? What? (Not that there is only one reason; I'm looking for the various possible causes.)
6 AnswersPsychology2 decades agoQ about Temple animal sacrifice...?
There is a recent Q <http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=Ajow1Di5TS... (still open) about Jewish sacrifice. There are several (4 so far) answers which respond with a Christian theology that Jesus' sacrifice was The Sacrifice "to end all [temple] sacrifices." But no one gave a Scripture reference as a "Source" for that ~fact.~
In context of the following instructions & warnings from the Bible...
Matthew 24:4
Acts 17:10-11
2 Thessalonians 2:3
1 Thessalonians 5:21
...Where is the Scriptural prophesy/fulfillment that temple sacrifice ended with The Crucifixion? Won't faithful FOLLOWERS of the Messiah (grafted into the root of Israel) be lining up to sacrifice when the Temple is restored (rebuilt or delivered)? (There is NT verification that the Apostle Paul stayed true to the faith of his Jewish fathers, believing all of the Law & Prophets [Acts 24:14-16] AND that he made Temple sacrifice [Acts 21:24 & 26; cf Numbers 6:13-21]).
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoThe Resurrection occurred B4 the women got to the tomb; God doesn't tell us WHEN it occurred, did He?
"The first day of the week" started after sunset on Saturday!
The Messianic prophesies were fulfilled PERFECTLY, on God's Divine Timetable - the original Passover was a perfect pre-shadow of the Lamb of God sacrifice. Based on God-in-Control, how does anyone dare assume that the Resurrection was on the pagan "venerable day of the sun god," Sunday?! God has never tolerated paganism mixed in to His worship. How does anyone (besides Constantine & the Popes & ~the Reformers~) dare to make Sunday a holy day? God has told His people what days are Holy to Him; how does anyone dare usurp God's Law make an assumption into a holiday?

What is the possibility or probability that the [Latin] cross is the ~mark of the beast~? (Not that you would have it put on your forehead!)
There is no Scripture to validate the shape of the crucifixion stake. It is a vain tradition of man. Idolatry?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhat did Constantine do?
We know why Catholics revere Emperor Constantine - they made him a saint.
But why do mainline protestant denominations revere Constantine by following him (e.g. Sunday, Christmas, Easter, etc) rather than following the Torah-observant Messiah (e.g. Sabbath, Holy Day Festivals of the Lord, etc)?
What good did Constantine ever do? i.e. what did he ever do for the glory of God in a way which is pleasing to God - not the pagan abominations which Constantine is best known for?!
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoIs the Bible to be taken literally?
There is poetry, parables, dreams & visions, etc in the Bible, but when God gives 10 Commandments, why do most Christians calmly consider them merely *suggestions*? For example, there is only one of the 10 which God specifies with a time frame - "Keep the Sabbath holy." But ~believers~ say, "Naw, He didn't ~really~ mean that - we have the inside track. We can desecrate the Sabbath and go to church for an hour Sunday morning. (Because my god is loving & understanding & forgiving... I'm saved by Jesus sacrifice, not by what I do or don't do.)" Isn't that making god in your own image. Say, isn't that idolatry?!
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhere are the missionaries to the Christian churches?
When I was a mainstream denomination pew-warmer, all the 1-hour a week Christians like me (who were "good" people during the week, but indistinguishable from the moral heathens) were accepted. [For whatever $ contributions we make, evidently.] Why are there no missionaries in the mainline Christian denominations to wake-up the congregation members who are dead to living the faith? There were a lot like me in my church - how about yours [if you are Catholic, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc]? Why are the clergy, in general, so complacent about it?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoDid Jesus descend into hell???
From my Lutheran background, I was somewhat aware of the Reformation. One of the banners the reformers waved was the "5 Solas." One of which is that the religious doctrine is to be based on the Bible (not traditions or men's better ideas): "Sola Scriptura" [Scripture alone] = Scriptures are our only ultimate and infallible authority for faith and practice.
So, what is with the Apostles Creed (other than it wasn't written by the apostles)? How can the mainline denominations embrace the dogma of the Apostles' Creed when it includes the phrase, "He descended Into hell"? I've searched various translations online - I can't find the chapter & verse that says that Jesus went to hell B4 His resurrection.
Where did that come from? And WHY?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades ago[Christians & Jews] What is the meaning, significance, etc of such unique Scripture in John 18:5-6?
One of the characteristics of Scripture validity is that the same event or message is mentioned in several books of the Bible. The OT has many multiple recording of the same time frame. NT fulfillment matches the OT prophesy. The 4 gospel books proclaim the same Good News. But John 18:5-6 describes a unique event during the arrest of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane where the soldiers went back & fell.
The NASB online frequently has multiple footnotes & crossreferences for each verse, but there are none for these two verses.
What does it mean it there is no OT prophesy being fulfilled to reference? Or, no other scripture about the topic? What is the significance of this passage? Was it ~His breath~ as He spoke - a-la Benny Hinn blowing people down?
The parallel Jewish Bible & Hebrew Names Version use the all-cap "I AM." Jesus said, "I AM," other times w/o that effect of people going backward & falling to the ground. Why this time? Why ONLY this time?
