If I do not believe in your fairy-tale God, am I a better or a lesser person?

Update:

Note that I neither say I do or don't believe (the question reads "if"), nor do I single out any specific religion

So your assumptions about the question, and how you answer based on those assumptions, say more about you than they do about me.

Interesting how people fill in the gaps, isn't it.

Why must a person be judged on which God they believe? God is the ONLY ONE to judge, not us mortals.

That depends if you are a better or a lesser person in other ways I guess, at least you aren't falling for a tired melodramatic messiah story that is way past it's sell-by date and needs to be retired.

If you are a mass murderer then I'd prefer to call a deluded fairy-tale God believer who wasn't a mass murderer a better person than you...maybe..we need more information and more evidence.

God created everybody equal. You were made from cells and your blood is red.You were uniquely knitted in your mother's womb.Life between the cradle and the grave is made up of choices. our pilgrimage on earth is not over yet.Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. When I was 16 I began a novel-fiction- and completed six chapters. The events in my novel have happened ;and even the name of some characters proved to be real! When I wrote those chapters, they were fictitious.Who knows if your 'fairy tale God' will become real? Keep on living.Christian or not, you are equal and loved.God made everything good; and man was made very good.

I don't believe in god, and I don't feel I am any lesser a person because of it. I think it's all well and fine for people to believe what they want to believe in. I threw logic into religion a long time ago, and decided to believe in none of it, and live my life for me and not rely on believing in some "higher power" to chose my path. Are you better, you ask? No, no one is better than anyone else for what they believe, but if you feel it makes you a better person if you once believed and now don't.....well, I guess that's different. ie: not relying on "God" for things to work out, and instead going out and making things happen.

It all depends on how you treat people. If you treat people in the same manner as you would want to be treated than you are a better person, if you treat people like garbage then you are a lesser person.

It has nothing to do with believing in god, the powerful spaghetti god, or whoever is supposedly in the clouds.

It all has to do with treating people.

You are a better or lesser person based on how you treat people,. there is no need to worry about fairy-tale god, or whoever for we know that they do not exist and all that matters is how you treat people.

Think about it, you have religious people who treat people that do not believe in god, or those that are homosexuals in a bad way.. and yet they go to church.. I call them hypocrites

Does it matter to you? Will you change if someone tells you "lesser" or stay the same? No one but the Lord can judge you righteously, it's true. I don't think you are better or lesser, I just think your world could be opened up to so much more joy - the kind that lasts in eternity. Being with our Heavenly Father and our families forever! Because that is what really matters...

I would say lesser because I believe in God and I think those who don't are just cheating themselves out, because God is a source of optimism and hope for many and even if some believe He doesn't exist, it gives security to a person....and it would give you a reason not to fear death.

Ok I guess I will take choice 'c' even though it is not offered. Neither. You would not be better nor worse because I would not care if your beliefs were the same as mine. You would be the same person you always are - a fellow human being.

I don't think it matters whether or not you believe in a God in order to become a better or lesser person. It's completely up to you.

we all have our own opinion on which God to believe in or not to believe in. You would not be a better or less of a person for that matter just because you do not believe in anothers God or choice of religion.

Faith is for each man or woman to do as they wish..We all pray like we want to..or not pray at all. If you bring out ur negative attitude about anything...it will get some feedback ..but if you keep ur beliefs to urself..and no one knows..then that is ur choice..it all depends if youre walking around putting down "the fairytale God" to people who really believe in it
