Why do your eyelids get so puffy when you cry before you fall asleep? How can you prevent this or fix it?

You need to give your eyes time to dry let air get too them, When you cry water comes from the back of the eye and when your awake with your eyes open it has time to dry and not cause puffyness, When you cry just before you go to sleep you dont give your eyes time to dry do puffyness acurse your tear ducts have nowhere to to so they sit in the bottom of the eye and dry out and you skin swells.n way to stop this dont cry near bed time but if you do in the morning put a cotton wool pad with water on the puffy area and leave the massage cream in to it then redness and puffness with go.

ugh, i hate when that happens. I just tell people the next day when they ask me whats wrong with my eyes that I didn't get alot of sleep lol! The best thing I've found is sleeping in alittle bit longer in the am. Sorry that you were crying before you went to sleep :(

stop crying, and use cucumber slices, or an ice cold rag for a little while.
