how to remove water spots/stains from stainless steel kitchen sink?

Honestly, dearheart, Mr. Clean has these lovely Magic Sponges that work wonderfully. You can find them in the cleaning aisle of your local shopping place. Whats so nice about them is you can use them until they literally fall apart and they clean mostly anything. They work wonderfully on my stainless sink and they get that brownish stuff off of the top of my gas stove too. (Great in the shower too for hard water stains) The only thing that I found they can't do is take black marks off my kitchen linoleum.

Being a landlord with 40 units and all stainless kitchens, I am a little lazier than most people and don't want to scrub. Home Depot sells a stainless steel cleaner/polish by Zep that is a spray on application. Just spray it on, wait a few minutes and scrunge it off like you are wiping out the sink. Works on baked on food, grease and hard water stains in less than 5 minutes. Also, it puts down some kind of barrier that keeps stuff from accumulating again.

Stainless steel polish will not only get rid of the water stains but keep them for happening for a atleast a week. Great stuff. Trust me, I am a hotel manager.

Buy some Jetdry (The stuff you put in your dishwasher to keep your dishes from waterspotting) and polish it. It may take some elbow grease, but it'll get it done. If not try a jewelry cleaner. Both times use a soft but sturdy rag so you don't scratch the finish on the sink.

If those don't work say it is a patina and meant to be like that.

When I bought my stainless steel cook wear the directions said to use vinegar. Just put a paper towel soaked in vinegar on the spots for about 20 minutes and let it sit. You should be able to just wipe them off and it makes the steel shine.

Vinegar is the best. Let it soak to get the worst build up of hard water out. Then use a little Pledge to cover any scratches or other imperfections in the stainless steel.

Home Depot sells Stainless Steel Polish. It works great for water spots... To reduce the chance of them coming back, install a water softener in your house.

Use a SOS pad to clean it,rinse and dry,take a small amount of baby oil on a cloth and rub it in your sink and around edge it will look brand new.
