What is the average salary for an entry level computer technician? Hourly or annually?

I am interested in going back to school and would also like to learn "troubleshooting" as well. I have a natural knack for repairing computers and learn very quickly. So, I'm going for the passion of it as well as the money.

in chicago with A+ and Network+ certs you can expect about $10-$13 per hour working for circuit city and the like.

On-site services like Geek Squad or, AHEM, the vastly superior Cagin Computing will pay higher.

On-site companies will expect you to have at least 5+ years experience. This is because when your in a store, you can turn to your co-worker and ask. When at a client's house or office your on your own.

$16/hour translates to about $33,000 annually (assuming you work 40 hours a week time 52 weeks of the year). If this is entry level, then it is slightly expensive for the employer considering your minimal experience. You should have aimed for $25,000 annually and worked your way up. However, the employer might agree because $16 hourly is about average for computer technicians. Good luck.

Depends on where u live, I know here in Northern Cali it is anywhere from 8 to 12.00 an hour. I don't know what crack head is saying about 12 to 20 that must be some place like Los Angles or something because that isn't true epically here. I do believe that it also depends on your experience level.

This depends on where you live. Contact an IT headhunter in your local market who should be able to advise you of what a reasonable expectation should be.
