Is there such thing as minor bipolar disorder?
Sometimes i feel like i have minor symptoms of bipolar disorder, but i'm not sure if its just anger expressed normally or it its something i should look into more.I was diagnosed with depression two years ago and have recovered well but reccently my moods have been more agressive than usual. ive done some research on bipolar disorder and its hard to tell if its serious ( most of my test results are 50/50) Sometimes little thigns will set my anger off and start arugments with people close to me, and i feel more outgoing than usual, and have euphoric feelings at akward times, but it never makes me loose sleep or spend outragous amounts of money or have uncontrolable thoughts racing through my mind. So is there sush thing as minor bipolar disorder?

I too have suffered with depression due to bullying at work. I have now recovered(and left my job)but I have noticed that I get irritable more easily when I am under pressure. I also have feelings of real happiness at the other extreme. This may be due to the depression. I am going to go back to meditation and see if I can't get on a more even keel; or are the highs worth the lows?

Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with Bipolar II.
It's crazy - Years ago my first diagnosis was Depression, Then Depression Depressant, Then Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Then Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Compulsive/Impulsive, Dissociative,...
Finally Bipolar, Then Rapid Bipolar, Then Rapid Cycling Bipolar, Last visit I was told I am a Bipolar II, visit before that was PTSD.
PTSD is a combination of most listed above. There are so many disorder I guess to shorten the list they combined them!
Oh, and this NEW ADHD...Come on just another NAME for one or more of the already NAMED disorders.

Might as well be-- psychiatry makes up these categories. So they can put your behavior in a box and "treat" the symptoms which make you not work so predictably on the assembly line. Categorizing sadness or melancholy as a biological problem that can be fixed with pills is so short-sighted. And what's wrong with mania... calling someone with abundant energy manic... lol, psychaitry is fkn oppressive. There are some people with differences, schizophrenics, autistics -- conditions you are born with-- all this other stuff is just the wrong way to deal with people.
An example of arbitrariness: Angry people. This is a disorder of some sort. It's not normal~~ But does that make anger "ill" "bad" "something to be treated"--- isn't anger at times the "right" thing to be feeling?~~~ think about that sh*t.
***Buffybot67 I understand your POV that if she should take care of herself, we should not judge her actions-- I'm certainly not going to be upset if she doesn't follow my advice... But deferring to any so-called "professional" may not be 'responsible'~ especially if there are alternatives that don't put her in shady, disfunctional, defeatist categories, that make her submit to human testing on unknown pharmaceuticals (you think they "know" what that stuff does to you in the longterm?) -- really they want to 'control' your behavior, but the human mind isn't like a car engine.
other things I have to suggest are: drinking water, exercise, add raw organic fruits and veggies-- subtract everything else, St. John's Wort for depression, yoga, meditation, fresh air. I swear to god you will feel damn good if you just do those things.

If you are bothered by your moods and feelings talk to a doctor. It doesn't matter what others think or so if YOU are bothered you need to seek reassurance by a professional. All disorders whether mental or physical can effect people differently and to varying degrees. Do yourself a favour and talk to a professional
