why are swiss timepieces superior?

At one time, they used to be the height of watch craftsman ship. While you can still find great swiss watches, they aren't necessarily any better than a japanese watch or even a cheapo chinese watch.

Personally, I prefer my 3rd world made Atomic Watch, which keeps time accurate to the second and keeps resetting itself. It's a Casio.

The Swiss can make crappy timepieces just the same as everyone else, but they do have the market cornered on high end watches. They've got hundreds of years of specialization and the best craftspeople in the world. Companies like Tag and Rolex and a few others are all based out of Switzerland.

They used to be, but not any more, because at one time they had "21 jewels", so they were the most accurate. But now we have digital timepieces, and people are more interested in advance technology than a beautiful watch.

Ive owned 4 Swiss Watches and they have all broke. Superior.... I don't think so.. I'm sure the Swiss think so.

they may or may not be superior, depending to the manufacturer. The ones that are of very high quality is simply, quality workmanship of experienced craftsmen
