Well, after serving and drinking wine for 15 years now, I have several opinions on this matter. First and Foremost, DRINK WHAT YOU LIKE or you won't enjoy your salmon. If you just have to have a red wine, I would suggest a Pinot Noir which is a lighter red wine. Salmon is a prett meaty fish, so it would go perfectly with a really nice BUTTERY chardonnay such as Edna Valley Chardonnay or Benzinger Chardonnay, both from california. If you want to try something new, I would suggest a German Riesling (super sweet), an Italian Pinot Grigio (usually very dry) or a Savingnon Blanc which is light with clean finishes in most cases and heavy fruit tones. enjoy your salmon and remember - drink what you like!!!!

Some red wines goes well with it. Get a nice sweet or fruity wine to balance out the fish.

If you don't drink wine that much try Riunite Lambrusco. I personally like Casillera del Diablo.

grab a bottle of pinot noir, pinot grigio, or savignon blanc. any sauvignon blanc from france, like trimbach or henri borgiouis will do quite well, or, if you can get it, la crema or shug pinot noir.
