Yahoo answers age segregation?

Can we have a separate yahoo answers for those over 18 and those under 18? I swear I get a headache trying to figure out what these kids are saying. When did it become cool to not know how to spell? "U no wut I mean?" God that drives me crazy. Am I getting old?

That would be a wonderful thing! I'm just glad to know that somewhere out here in all of this there's someone who feels the same as I do!

I completely agree with you, but unfortunately, I don't think separating the ages would work because people online can lie about their ages and a bunch of the kids under 18 would go into the over 18 area. So we just have to deal with it and sort through all the meaningless unintelligent questions for some that are worth answering.

Maybe Yahoo needs to delete all screen names and start over. Only this time, you sign up as an administrator at a local government office or grocery store (with proof of legal age) and then the administrator can assign Yahoo accounts to minors in the household.

As for the words, let's admit it...the English language sucks. Silent letters abound. Most of the time, the young ones appear to be spelling the word exactly as it sounds, which is kinda' ok with me. Problem is, it would never be accepted in adult life. Maybe it's time for the adults to revolt against this ridiculous language?

I find some of the phrasing refreshing, on the other hand . . . There have been several requests to create a separation for adult and minors in YA. I think the major problem is finding a way to determine a user's true age and if an "adult" section was set up it would open YA to more adult themes.

Even if 18+ sesssion is introduced, kids will still lie about their age to get into that session and the purpose will be defeated. Afteral you have yahoo chat rooms for 30+ but i go there though i am not up to 30...lol. MAN! JUST flow with them ok, you where kid once...lol

Maybe a little old, but hey at least you are literate. I know what you mean though, by the time I figure out what is trying to be said I have lost interest in the question. Guess I'm old too.

i agree with you about the abbreviations and stupid questions. but what about those few kids under 18 that are actually asking questions worth answering and they have every other >18 year old person answering? maybe we should have a mandatory profile thing. if the person writing the profile writes as ignorant as half the people on here are, they should be moved to the hrm.. slow section maybe?

I am in total agreement with you, however just by adding answers for those over 18 will only make the young ones lie just to be part of it (just like yahoo chat). Seeing the way they type doesn't make me feel older, just a lot damn smarter and not so lazy.

Yahoo Answers is open to EVERYBODY! How do you know who's under or over 18, anymore? People can lie about their ages on this you know! It has nothing to do with peoples' ages. People just simply don't know how to spell, that's all.

Yes I feel the same way, it takes so long to figure out what they are trying to ask sometimes that I just ignore them and move on. Oh and there is a check spelling button and someone should show them how to use it.

I agree with you. Kids these days need to learn how to correctly spell sentences, they wouldn't spell like that on there school work, so I think they shouldn't do it online either. Drives me crazy as well. If they can spell proper grammar in school, they should use it online as well.
