I was watching Cops on Tv. They where filming at the Mardi Gras, there is no way in hell . I would not attend?

all it is ,is a money trap for the city and a way for the cops to take out their aggressions.. they will lock your asss up for nothing. my question is who in their right mind would go. and how many of you have been.

You really cant talk about anything unless you've tried it. Of course you re only going to see the worse of every city on COPS .. duh. I ve never seen anything like what they show on cops..and i live here. i Just see the occasional guys and chicks flashing. you should come to New Orleans one year for Mardi Gras .. just to see. and you dont have to spend that whole time on Bourbon.. you can do just one night.. but most likely.. you will like it. I'm not even that much of a drinker... and i think its fun. Theres much more to New Orleans/Mardi Gras then just Bourbon St. you can check out the other 70 parades around the city.

I go to Bourbon Street every year for Mardi Gras (for the past few years) and it's not that bad. And I am going to continue to go. It's just FUN! We go out and dance all night...the only thing is it takes like an hour to get from one end to the other, but who cares?!

As always television just sensationalizes things.

We live near New Orleans and go out on Bourbon many times throughout the year and the only difference I have found is the size of the crowds...not so much in the way people act.

Also, I'm not sure what your beef about it being a "money trap" is. I mean it's good money for the city, through tourism. And OMG, it's FUN! So who cares?

That is a bunch of CRAP. I went this past Mardi Gras, and it was lively as ever and I didn't see any of that. (not that there weren't a few instances, always is) But as for lock you up for nothing? Nah. It was all love.

Duck Duck goose. I used to date a guy named Duck. Ok, I cannot remember if we dated or were just good friends. Loved the 60's.

Oh no, what did you say?

you were seeing the worse of it- it's not that simple & not that bad- yes it's a money trap for the city- most cities have one thing they do to draw in the money like that- think Daytona Beach, etc.

Never been...kinda scares me to go. I haven't made up my mind yet though as to whether or not I would completely rule it out.

I've been a few times. And I'll tell you, I was thankful to have a strong police presence in the area. Thanks to them, we spent less time worrying about pickpockets and drunk morons and more time enjoying the festivities.

Seems your definition of "nothing" is considerably different than mine.
