I believe we all get a part of the good, bad and genetics play the part of being ugly or the other categories. Too experience all this is a step towards the next level. Oh, Life is definitely a learning experience.

The only way I've been able to rationalize the "good, bad, the ugly" that seems to happen to everyone is that we're learning. Life lessons so to speak. It seems to be a weird human condition that we don't learn anything unless it hurts. Hopefully we learn these lessons and become better people. Better people are usually happier i.e. they have what they want out of life.
So do you necessarily get what you want out of life....no, just what you're willing to work for.

Yes I do. I think that we came here with a plan and that we tailor make our entire existence to support that plan. I think it seems very obvious in so many ways - very often you get what you expect, don't you? When you worry that something bad is gonna happen and then it does, what is the first thing that everyone says "I knew that was gonna happen!"
The key to this is what you think about - and those thoughts that you go over and over in your mind, they are the ones that you are most likely to actualize.
We go to the dentist repeating in our mind "I hate going to the dentist, I just know he will find a cavity" when we should be saying to ourselves "This is gonna be so quick - in and out! I've been doing great with my teeth, I can't possibly have any cavities" and really mean it.

I think it depends on how bad you really really want it. Most people just skim along the top of life, never really diving down into it to get the treasure at the bottom. Why? Because it is a lot of work, it might be painful, and it's just easier to float along. ME? I break my damn eardrums to dive down deep and come up gasping and choking, but with handfuls of rich experience.

I've gotten some of the good I've wanted
I'm not thrilled with the bad, but might deserve some of it
The ugly doesn't bother me - not so far

Absolutely, where ever your heart is your mind will follow. For instance in relationships you may want to get married but your heart has been broken and you may not trust anyone. Although, you want to get married, if you are not ready to recieve it you may not obtain it. If you do obtain it you may not be able to handle it because of unresolved issues. Nothing is too impossible if you set your mind to it and forgive your past.

Yeah, because I think we plan out our entire education here on Earth before we get here. So, yes, even the sh*tty stuff happens because we want it to, in order to learn, grow and evolve as spiritual beings.

No, I think you get some of the things you want, but not everything. You just have to live with what you do get, and try to be happy with that.
