I have one who will actually "fetch" rolled-up bus tickets!! I roll them up and throw them and he will keep bringing hem back so I can throw them again- really odd! I haven't trained him- he just started doing it, but wont bring anything else. He's a Norwegian Forest cat, and weighs over 20lbs, and its some sight seeing all hat cat galloping after a little screw of paper!! His name is Erik, and he is gorgeous.

My parents cat, Timmy, is a little over a year now and when we brought him home I had a rubber mini basket ball what I squished until a quarter of the air was out of it. It still bounces great and rolls good too, but because some of the air is gone Timmy is able to pick it up he fetches it and brings it back for you to throw whenever you can.

I had a cat once that loved to fetch pieces of individually wrapped hard candy! We would play for hours!

Ahh bless! Mine fetches my socks if theyre on the floor! Clean ones of course! Be careful if your cat plays with string, one of mine swallowed some off a toy but luckily nature took its course. My cousins cat had to have an op to remove string from her cats intestines costing £700! And she didnt have insurance!!

One fetched balls of tinfoil. Another fetched elastics (the ones from around broccoli) but she stopped after she had kittens and never did it again.

Mine loves paper wads or those little shinny sparkle pom poms. My cat fetches a few times than stops. She will chase balls but only bring back really light things like paper.

Everytime we screw up a piece of paper, Lily (nearly a year old) will run in and look up expectantly for us to throw for her (didn't take her long to learn that one!)
Also, there was an incident involving Lily carrying a plain piece of toast from the Kitchen into the Living Room, and getting ready to eat it yesterday!

Balled up plastic grocery bags. He chases it, fetches it with his mouth, but won't bring it back. I have to get up each time and throw it to him .
