Can a tampon get stuck in a woman too far up to retreive?
I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone. Wouldn't this be a health risk?

It's possible for it to all go in and sometimes you cant find the string to pull it out or the string could break off, however most the time to you can fish it out by squatting and retrieving it yourself. Sometimes it's to hard to get it and you can go into the doctors and they can get it out. The good news is its impossible to lose it forever because it can never get thru the cervix. Your safe with a tampon its only on rare occasions that it does deep sea diving.

Hi....i used to work at planned parent hood and i'm not sure how this young lady did it, but indeed she came in for an exam because she was having terrible lower abdominal pains and when the doctor examined her he found the remains of a previously inserted tampon. The smell caused us to close off the exam room she used and to open all the windows. Yes this really can happen!

No it cant get stuck , but my suggestion is never leave a tampon in for more than 6 hours

No, it can only go up as far as the cervix. If the cord were to detach and you were unable to get ahold of the tampon with your fingers, you'd need to see a doctor to remove it.

Well i have heard of it happening but all they did was go to the doctor and they got it out but i really dont think it would be anything to worry about just dont stick it up in their 2 far. The only way one could really get stuck was if u wasnt on ur period.

No, because a tampon can't go past the cervix and the removal cord, which hangs outside the vaginal opening, is much longer than the length of the vagina.

Yes, i'm sure it's possible but i'm sure the Dr. could get it out if that were to happen.
