The best way to gain weight and still be healthy is to eat more protein, less carbs and lift weights, smaller amounts of weight but more reps. I also eat about five to six small meals a day to keep my body energized.

You can gain weight (and still remain healthy) by taking regular meals, as required to fill your stomach. Donot try to overeat. Take more of carbohydrates like breads, rice, etc. Also try not to be stressed out ant reduce tensions, if any. Have a good nights (or at any favourable time only if you work at night BY PROFFESSION) sleep. It may take some time, but in this way you will gain weight without harming your health.
Some people however are thin by nature of their structure. So don't worry if your height (which you haven't mentioned) to weight ratio is correct. You can find standard body height to weight ratio on net (try wikipaedia).
Also it is necessary to do LIGHT exercises like free-hand movements (for any person ideally) alongside. But dont do heavy exercise.
