why do you drive by the projects (public housing) and see Cadillac's, BMW's, and Lexus average $30,000 cars?

Drug money and easy credit. I bet the repo man has visited the projects quite a few times to retreive a Caddy from its delinquent owner. I live in a middle class neighborhood, have really good credit and I drive a 92' Bonneville. In high school I worked in a supermarket that got a lot of welfare customers and most of them drove better cars than MY PARENTS did. Is it a twisted world or what?

You're forgetting to mention the satelite dishes on top of the homes.
It all goes to the culture of poverty. In these communities, improvements to the home are irrelevant for a few reasons:
1. Nicer home = higher property taxes
2. Higher Property taxes = less money for me
3. You can't show off a nice home like you can a car.
There's been many studies done that show these people, in order to win respect and admiration, show off what little wealth they have in the most conspicuous way possible. You can't take your house with you, but you can take your car, clothes, shoes, etc.
These are why minorities are especially tied to brand labels and certain stylings, while whites and the wealthy don't really care who's on the label, as long as it looks good.
Drug dealers are a small part of the equation. If these drug dealers were making 100k a year, you think they'd be living in the projects? Black market money is still money.

Drugs and credit. In the projects the rent is much cheaper, and if the ppl have good jobs, or if here are way too many ppl in the apt splitting the rent, the ppl may actually be able to afford the cars. It is not fair or right, buthey life is not fair. The cars also may be from ppl visiting the other ppl in the projects.

I do drive by projects from time to time and I see very few cars worth over $30,000. However, there are some drug dealers that live in poor areas of town that commonly drive high priced cars.

Why do you think? Drug-dealers or manufacturers, likely. Or, could be somebody's rich aunt's come to visit. (It's not impossible.)

Stating the real answer will only get one "reported".
But we all know why, don't we? (wink-wink!)
